Collaboration


The Flemish word for collaboration is 'samenwerking'. You can use this word in different ways.
In most situations, I use collaboration in the sense of:

                                'If we work together, then we can achieve more than when we work alone. '

We can also use this sentence in this session of globalization.
Below, you can find our teamwork for the task we have done in the lesson. It was a real teamwork to get to this result.
Conclusion of the session:
What I remember from this session, is that in real life you can always use help. In your spare time, but also in your professional life as a teacher. If you work together with your other colleagues, you can take the
development of foster children to a higher level. This is the goal of each teacher.

Reflection

·         What is an international collaborative project?

-          Working together across borders.
-          People from different cultures working together on a common project

-          Different countries coming together

-          Getting to understand each other, due to the culture difference

International focus in subject teaching

·         Internationalization – new contents

·         The international dimension is an interdisciplinary dimension in the Danish public schools meaning that it must be a part of every subject and must be included in all subjects when relevant

·         During the students’ school time they must be involved in at least one international collaborative project

·         How is this dimension taken into the curriculum in your countries?

Planning an international collaborative project

·         Make sure that the project can be answered by these words:
-          What – why – how – who – when – where

·         What is the project going to be about?
-          Greetings
·         What are the students going to learn?
-          Starting a conversation
-          Greeting habits
-          Creativity
-          Cultures
·         Why have we chosen this subject?
-          Good to start a school year
-          Making a movie from
-          Psychology aspect
-          Creative/innovative thinking
·         Why is it suitable for international collaborative work?
-          Reflect on our own/other greeting habits
-          Know other cultures (better)
·         How are we going to plan the project?
-          Communicate between countries, with other teachers; agree on when the project will be and how, deadlines etc.
-          Create a paper within it is written the aims, expectations, demands etc.
·         How are we going to organize it? – Timetable – diving into smaller groups etc.
-          There will be a small milestone for each week; updates on the blog when their work, for each week, is done
-          Students will be divided into pairs
·         How to evaluate the project?
-          There will be an evaluation each week/evaluation for milestone
-          Urge the students to evaluate on other students’ project on the blog
-          There will be a final evaluation of the whole project on the blog
·         How can the students learn something?
-          Cooperative learning
-          Learning by doing
-          Practical teaching - oral
-          Theoretical teaching - written
·         How are you going to show/exhibit the project in school or to the parents?
-          On the blog
·         Who is going to participate? – Colleagues – classes – external teachers – parents etc.
-          Danish/Spanish classes at age 11-15, and their teachers.
·         Who is going to have which tasks:
1.      Looking for a project partner – make detailed planning
-          Teachers
2.      Making different arrangements/deals
-          Teachers
3.      All the paper work for the parents – external persons etc.

·         When is the project going to take place in the school’s year planning?
-          In the very beginning of the school’s year – September/October
·         When are we going to involve the different participants?
-          Summer break (maybe before)
·         When can we say the project is a success?
-          When we have reached the first contact with the teacher/students abroad
-          When we have reached our milestones
-          When the project is done
-          When we have a product to present on the blog, which shows a positive outcome

-          But also at home to do homework

  Inquiry: An inquiry is a systematic system of asking questions with the goal to discover new facts and find new ways of doing something.      
                          
'means to gather and broaden knowledge and understanding'


Global citizen: Global citizen is a kind of connectedness between people. It means that people of different cultures or nationalities find themselves stronger connected to other cultures than to their own culture/nationality.

You must know that we are not alone in the world. We have many nationalities and identities. Therefore we must understand each other and respect each other's ideas and background.   We are all global citizens. Everybody is from the world and the world is from everybody.

Attitude:
Attitude is, together with knowledge and skills part of a competency. An attitude or stance describes how one attitude towards persons or property. An attitude is a combination of a cognitive aspect (know of), an action-aspect (do something) and affective aspects (question be). For example, learning or work.
